Frequently Asked Questions about UR-8AH
How many signals can be configured with the UR-8AH in order to monitor power lines for universal Multilin relays?
The GE system of universal Multilin relays features a comprehensive unit containing a CPU, a CT/VT module, an I/O transducer, a digital I/O, and other components. The CT/VT module component comes in a variety of order codes with unique characteristics. Each CT/VT module can configure up to 24 analog CT and VT signals for the purpose of monitoring the power lines. The CT/VT module accepts either 1 or 5 current transformers. The UR-8AH is an older CT/ VT module and accepts a firmware of 3.5x or earlier. It is described as having a standard 4CT/4VT, which is similar to the new version CT/VT (UR-8F). The UR-8AH CT/VT module should be matched with an old version Multilin CPU module such as the UR-9A, UR-9C, or UR-9D modules. All other components of the UR Series Multilin universal relay systems are compatible with the newer versions of CT/VT modules and of the new CPUs, in the case of the UR F35 relay for example. Some other AC signals that are recorded by the Multiln universal relay system are voltage, power, current, energy, frequency, and demand. Each of these variables are metered with a high degree of accuracy as a standard included with each UR.
