Controlling size is about speed.Because the scale is large,the user program is also long,and the execution speed of the instruction is not fast,which will inevitably prolong the time of the PLC cycle and the response of the PLC to the input signal.In order to avoid this situation,the working speed of PLC should be fast.So,large PLCs always work faster than small ones.
The control size is also related to the size of the memory area.Large scale and long user programs require a larger user storage area.At the same time,the number of points is large,and the signal area(input and output relay area or input and output mapping area)of the system memory input and output is also large.This area is large,and the number of internal devices(see below for explanation)increases accordingly,all of which require a larger system memory area.
The control scale is also related to the number of input and output circuits.If the control scale is 1024 points,there must be 1024 I/O circuits.These circuits are integrated in the I/O module,and each module has a number of I/O points.Therefore,the scale is large and the modules used are also many.
The scale of control is also related to the PLC command system.A large-scale PLC has a large number of instructions,and the functions of the instructions are also strong,so as to meet the needs of controlling a system with a large number of points.
The control scale is an index that restricts other performance indicators of the PLC;it is also the PLC divided into micro,small,medium,large and extra large.

Generally speaking,the large-scale PLC has many types and specifications of high-grade PLC modules,and the performance indicators reflecting its characteristics are also high.But the function of the module is more simple.On the contrary,there are few types of small PLCs and low-grade PLC modules,few specifications,and low indicators.But the function is more diverse,so that it is integrated into a box.
The modules that make up the PLC are the hardware basis of the PLC.Only when the selected PLC has those modules and their characteristics can the modules be correctly selected to form a complete PLC to meet the control system’s requirements for PLC.
