Integral PLC
The integral type is also called unit type or chassis type. It is small in size and low in price. For the box type PLC, there is a CPU board, I/O board, display panel, memory block, power supply, etc. Of course, it is divided into several models according to the performance of the CPU. , and there are several specifications according to the number of I/O points. For modular PLCs, there are CPU modules, I/O modules, memory, power modules, backplanes or racks. PLCs without any structure type belong to the bus-type open structure, and their I/O capabilities can be expanded and combined according to user needs.
Modular PLC
Large and medium-sized PLCs generally adopt a modular structure, which consists of a rack and a module. The module is inserted into the module socket, and the latter is welded on the bus connection board in the rack. There are racks with different numbers of slots for users to choose. If one rack cannot accommodate the selected modules, one or more extension racks can be added, and the racks are connected by interface modules and cables.
Users can choose different grades of CPU modules, a wide variety of I/O modules and special function blocks, and the choice of hardware configuration is large, and it is also very convenient to replace modules during maintenance.
Memory in the CPU module
The memory is divided into system program memory and user program memory. The system program is equivalent to the operating system in the personal computer. It enables the PLC to have basic intelligence and can complete various tasks specified by the PLC designer. The system program is designed by the PLC manufacturer and fixed in ROM (Read Only Memory), which cannot be read by the user. The user program is designed by the user, which enables the PLC to complete the specific functions that the user wants. The capacity of the user program memory is in bytes (B).
Random Access Memory (RAM)
The user can use the programming device to read the contents of the RAM, or write the user program into the RAM, so the RAM is also called a read/write memory. RAM has high working speed, low price and convenient rewriting.
Read only memory (ROM)
The contents of ROM can only be read, not written.
Programmable read-only memory (EEPROM) can be electrocuted

I/O module
The on/off status of each I/O point is displayed by a light-emitting diode (LED). The connection between the PLC and the external wiring generally uses a terminal block. Some modules use a removable socket-type terminal board, and it is not necessary to disconnect the connection on the terminal board. line, you can quickly replace the module.
Input module: PLC receives and collects input signals through the input module, and controls actuators such as contactors, solenoid valves, electromagnets, and speed control devices through the output module. Another type of external load controlled by PLC is indicator lights, digital display devices and Alarm devices, etc. There is an RC filter circuit in the input circuit to prevent erroneous input signals caused by input contact jitter or external interference pulses.
Output module: The rate amplification components of the output module include high-power transistors and field effect transistors (driving DC loads), triacs (driving AC loads) and small relays, which can drive AC loads or DC loads. The typical value of the output current is 0.5-2A, and the load power supply is provided by the external site.
